Dr. Terry L. Jones, DDS

Dr. Terry L. Jones, age 64, of Huntington, WV, received peace by entering Heaven on Tuesday, April 2, 2013. He is survived by his wife Suzanne G. Jones, and family: Derek T. Jones (Nashville, TN), Chase, Alana, Slade and Miles Jones (Missoula, MT) and Allison and Andrew Brewer (Huntington, WV). He is also survived by four brothers and their spouses and children from his birthplace of Philippi, WV. Additionally, he is survived by his father-in-law, Dr. Richard Shearer, and members of the Shearer family including a brother-in-law, sister-in-law and their spouses and children. Dr. Jones was born on October 20, 1948 and attended Philip Barbour High School. He went on to graduate from Alderson Broaddus College and West Virginia University School of Dentistry. He began his dental career serving in the U.S. Navy at Camp Lejeune, NC, and continued in private practice for over 20 years in Kenova, WV. After the events of 9/11 and a calling to serve the military once again, he was hired by the Department of Defense to care for army families in Giessen, Germany. He most recently served as a dentist at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Huntington, WV. Terry had a love of family, friends, community, and his church…First Baptist Church of Kenova. He also enjoyed golf, the West Virginia Mountaineers, travel and reading. His spirit of service touched many, and he will be remembered for many things…especially never meeting a stranger and a legacy of loving well and making people smile. Celebration services will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Kenova. Family visitation will be held from 2-3pm in the Welcome Center, followed at 3pm by a “Celebration of Life” service. Private burial will be in Philippi, WV.
