Barbara Adkins Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Barbara Maxine Akers Adkins, 76, of Ceredo, W.Va. passed away Friday, November 20, 2015 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 23, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Ceredo, of which she was a member, with Pastor Rodney Hale officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. She was born January 1, 1939, in Huntington, W.Va., daughter of the late Roy E. and Maxine Carver Akers. Barbara was a graduate of C-K High School, Class of 1956, and was an Administrative Assistant for over twenty years at the Tri-State Airport. She was a member of Woodman of the World and Past Noble Grand Rebecca Lodge #39. Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law Terry and Katie Akers. Survivors include her beloved husband Dennis L. Adkins, a precious daughter and son-in-law Robin (David) Dunkle of Ceredo, and three special grandsons Bradley (Amanda) Dunkle of Beaver Creek, Ohio, Craig Dunkle of Ceredo and Aaron Dunkle of Ceredo. Barbara is also survived by one brother and sister-in-law Michael (Pam) Akers of Huntington; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law Karen (Dana) Maynard of Kenova; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law William (Erma) Adkins of Grayson, Ky. and several nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
