Drema Sue Thompson Mealey

Drema Sue Thompson Mealey, of Kenova, WV a Christian by faith who loved her Lord with her whole heart and went to be with him on Sunday, September 22, 2013. Drema was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend whose love and fellowship will be missed by all who knew her. She was a member of the Oakview Missionary Baptist Church where she not only attended but was a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the Ladies Circle of Faith Class, and worked as the housekeeper for many, many years. She loved teaching and learning about God and His word and more importantly loved reading Godly stories to her great grandchildren. Heaven has gained a true Christian angel in Drema. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Mealey; a son, Vance Mealey; her mother and step-father, Margaret Watson Thompson Cantley and George Cantley; her father, Cecil Thompson; and sisters-in-law, Edna Hager and Garnet Mealey. Drema is survived by her son, Steve Mealey of Kenova; a daughter-in –law, Debbie Mealey of Kenova; one granddaughter, Jessica Hogsett of Ceredo; one grandson, Jerad Mealey of Kenova; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Fred and Connie Mealey of South Point, OH; one sister, Cecelia Pelfry of Kokomo, IN; six great grandchildren, Trenton, Bella, Gavin, Reese, Gwen and L. J. all of whom will miss her so very much and many nieces, nephews; one very special neighbor and friend, Jeanette Dorsey and many other friends. The family would like to express tremendous gratitude to the nurses and staff of the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House for the great care and compassion they showed to, not just Drema but the whole family during this very difficult time. What a joyous reunion she is having up in heaven, seeing God’s face and the wonderous reward she has received. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova, WV. Funeral services will begin immediately following the visitation at 1 p.m. with Pastor Derl Everman officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
