Lace E. Damron Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lace E. Damron, 89, of Prichard, WV died on Monday, February 20, 2012 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV. He was the son of the late Alexander and Cassie Hall Damron. Lace was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Maxine Trenter Damron; son, Gary Lee Damron; granddaughter, Melissa Rae McGuire; brothers, Fred and Shirley and sisters, Pauline Newman, Josephine Hatten and Nellie Chadwick. Survivors include son, Jerry (Brenda) Damron; daughter, Dianna (Richard) Jackson; daughter and loving caretaker, Linda Sue McGuire; granddaughters, Tamara (Greg) Reeves, Alicia (Mike) Patton, Tiffany Skidmore, Heather (Corey) Barrett, Amy (Mike) Schritter, Jodie Watts and Holly Jackson; great grandchildren, Brody Reeves, Drake McGuire, Logan Schritter, Hunter Perdue, Nicholas Skidmore, Tia Skidmore, Camden Jackson and Ruby Maxine Barrett and several nieces and nephews. He was a Navy veteran of World War II having served aboard the USS Bunker Hill. Lace retired from Houdaille Industries and Tri State Airport Authority. He was a faithful member of Centerville Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova, WV and one hour before the service at 2 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Centerville Baptist Church with Brother Don Dillon officiating. Burial will follow in Riggs Cemetery. Flowers will be appreciated but those wishing to make a donation to Hospice of Huntington at P.O.
