John H. Brown Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

John Harding Brown, 94, Ceredo, WV, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, March 29, 2015. He was born March 7, 1921, the son of the late Henry B. Brown and Alice Jane Brinkley Brown. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 72 years, Juanita Dean Brown, February 16, 2015. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Henry Burl Brown, Jr., William Brown (infant), Joshua Boyd Brown, George Delbert Brown, Bennie Earl Brown and three sisters, Eula Mae Dishman, Mattie Virginia Ramey, and Helen Louise Brown. He was a retired Road Master with Norfolk and Western Railway and a veteran having served in the US Army during World War II. John was also a 50 year member of the Crescent Lodge #32 AF & AM. John and his wife were blessed with three daughters, Kathy Jane Halley (John) of Huntington, WV, Sharon Kay Ronk (Ron) of Elizabethtown, KY, and Debra Dean Suiter of Ceredo, WV. John cherished his five grandchildren, Keri Frazier, Jason Frazier (Christina), Mary Beth Keffer (Steven), Justin Suiter (Katie), and Jonathan Ronk (Hannah) and his precious great-grandchildren, Ian Jacob, Payton, Kaylynn, Annaleigh and Rylie. Additional survivors include many nieces and nephews which include nieces Carole Adkins (Otis), Janice Staley, Brenda Dishman, Sheila Wheeler who visited him frequently and a nephew whom he loved as a son, Johnny Mack Brown, Naples, FL., also a special friend and caregiver Melissa Effingham. The family will receive friends at Rollins Funeral Home, Kenova, WV from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Saturday, April 4, 2015 with services beginning at 2:00 pm Reverend Scott Byard officiating. Burial will follow in Docks Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Hospice of Huntington.
